Neither rain, nor heat, nor snow will keep us from parking with a friendly smile and wave.
The outdoor hospitality team creates the first impression by the way they smile, wave, and direct guests to parking spaces. Â
-Safety is a true priority. Please wear a safety vest. Safety vests are on the coat rack to the right of the main entrance to the building. Safety vests also help to identify you to guests needing assistance.
-Alert a staff member or safety team member if you notice anything suspicious or if there is an accident of any kind.
-BE JOYFUL - ENERGETIC - HELPFUL - INTENTIONAL
-Shift starts 20 minutes before the start of the service time and ends 5 minutes after the start of service so that you can be in the service before the start of the message.
-Smile, wave, and greet families as they head into the building.Â
-Assist as needed with wheelchairs, strollers, or elderly walking into the building.Â
-After the sermon, return to your spot to dismiss cars until the next shift arrives.
-In order to get traffic out as efficiently as possible, and so we can get the next crowd in, please dismiss many cars at a time from an aisle rather than alternating.
-We do have portable radios to use for large events such as Easter.
Parking Lot Cones Set Up
-Arrive about 7:30am so cones are in place by 7:45am. Â
-The cart that contains the cones and signs is located in the hallway along the south side of the building, just to the right of the main entrance to the auditorium.Â
-See map for the approximate placement of cones. About 3-4 strides apart.
-Leave the cart out of the way near the volunteer parking area.
Parking Lot Expectations
-First Person to arrive - Spot #1 - Main Entrance: Wave, Smile, and help as needed. Help manage the flow of traffic exiting the parking lot between services.
-Usually, as the late traffic arrives, pull the cones at the entry and start sending cars down the western side of the lot rather than have them circle the entire lot.
-Second Person to arrive - Spot #2 - NE Corner: Wave, smile, help manage flow to protect pedestrians, and offer to help anyone parked in handicapped spots.
-Third Person to arrive - Spot #3 - SE Corner:Â Wave, smile, help in lot as needed
-Fourth Person to arrive - Spot #4 - In front of the visitor/handicapped area: direct cars to flow up the first available lane where there are openings. When that lane fills, go to the next lane to the west and direct them to park there. (Think Disney World!)
-Fifth Person to arrive - Spot #5 - Parking Lanes:Â In conjunction with #4, direct cars where to park to fill up the lot from East to West.Â
-Preferable if cars pull through so that all cars are facing West.Â
-When the lane is full, shift to the next open lane to the west and fill that lane up.
-There will be additional large cones placed on the grass island by spots #2 and #4 to use to block the lanes when those sections are filled up. Please return those cones to the island at the end of your shift.
-If we Run out of spots, please park along the curb and islands nearest the dumpster, as marked on the map below. We can also park cars along the circle drive. Please do not park people in the grass on the East side of the lot. If necessary, have cars park in the grass along the front drive as marked on the map.
Parking Lot Shift 3
-At the end of the shift, place the signs and cones on the cart and return the cart to the building.Â
-Return the cart to the hallway along the south side of the building, just to the right of the main entrance to the auditorium.
