Chicago West Bible Church is a church plant in the Austin Community of Chicago. They have recently moved into their own building after years of worshipping in a local school and they continue to be extremely active in the high school and community.

Pastor Jon Kelly and his wife Danielle have two sons and lead the church along with an amazing support staff. Calvary has chosen to partner with Jon and the church as part of a program through the North American Missions Board. Our role is to offer prayer, encouragement, and financial support in addition to sending teams on one-day or weekend trips to Chicago to work alongside the church as they reach their community for Jesus.

Every summer a group from Calvary serves with Chicago West Bible Church as they host their community at their annual Summer Blast. Similar to our Party at the Park, this is an outreach event and helping to make popcorn, sno cones, set up and clean up is a great way for us to support our partner church.

Purpose of Trip: Our team will help run games and serve food at the Chicago West annual Summer Blast so that the Chicago people can visit with their guests and focus on building relationships.

Size of Team: 20 people

Dates/Times: Sat, July 13 from 11:30 am - 10:30 pm

Cost: no cost

Age Requirements: 8 and up (kids 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent)

What will we do?

The team will leave Calvary at 11:30 am, carpool to Chicago, and arrive at Chicago West Bible Church early afternoon. When we arrive we will help with setting up for the event. We will run the popcorn and sno cones during the event, and help wherever else needed. After the event, we will help clean up and then carpool home. Food will be available during the event and we will send snacks for the team.

Optional: If there is enough interest, we can arrange for some of the team to spend the night in Chicago and go to church at Chicago West Bible Church the following morning. The cost per person would be $75.
