Bruce has more than 37 years of experience ministering through Baptist Collegiate Ministry and local churches in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas including being a senior pastor for 7 ½ years. He’s highly relational and excels at inspiring teams to act on ideas, projects and tasks which we feel will be very beneficial in his new role as Executive Pastor here at Calvary.

He enjoys hunting and fishing occasionally but mostly loves hanging out with Rita, his love for more than 41 years. They both love movie popcorn, the beach, and traveling.

 Some responsibilities of the role of Executive Pastor are to:

• Manage, guide, and equip staff to implement the mission and vision of Calvary.

• Direct, mentor, encourage, and counsel staff in their professional and spiritual development.

• Perform standard human resource functions including but not limited to: oversight of all performance evaluations, hiring process, dismissals, compensation of all non-executive level staff including benefits, maintaining the employee handbook, etc.

• Build and implement solutions and systems for the effective operation of the church.

• Oversee building maintenance, cleaning, scheduling and use, and all related staff.

• Facilitate regularly scheduled “all staff” meetings.

• Oversee financial operations and budget.

• Work effectively with existing administrative structures including finance and personnel teams, pastoral and executive staff, etc.
